Every activity in our classes is planned by Early Years experts and linked to the Early Years Framework for your baby’s stage of development. Adventure Babies baby classes support your baby in the best way possible for their all round development.
Our classes are also a great chance to make mum or dad friends with babies of a similar age and you never know, you or your baby might end up making lifelong friends!
Reading to babies from even before they are born has huge benefits. In a world of screen time we want to support you to help your baby or toddler fall in love with books and reading and become a lifelong reader able to unlock all future learning opportunities and enjoy reading for pleasure.

About
Hi, I’m Lisa and I run Adventure Babies in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
I loved Children’s books as a child. I fondly remember sitting with my mum reading The Faraway Tree series, Famous Five and The Naughtiest Girl in the School. Every time I went to a library I would take out the same Mr Majeika book about him having ‘Only one shoe’. I loved Roald Dahl books and Dr Seuss books, they were Magic. At School I loved Poetry books and I read The Hodgeheg multiple times. I loved snuggling up and reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark and listening to the Audio too. I still have the tape as a keepsake.
Later in life I went to University to study Sociology which I loved and after meeting my Husband, I stayed in Portsmouth. I found a passion for the Social care sector, supporting Adults and Young People through homelessness and other complex needs. That was until my Son came along who is now 6! I have spent my time making memories with my son and enjoying going to groups with him, which he has always loved and engaged so well with, even if he loves the outdoors most. It was this that made me want to start up a group in the area that combines stories, sensory and some messy fun, all of which benefited my son, especially in the early months.
I love bed time as a family and the telling of stories. We have read my Son some of the old books we loved and a variety of books he has picked and we come back to the same ones time and time again. I have loved seeing him engage with the books and he now uses puppets and tells us some parts of the stories himself. We even end up dressing as pirates sometimes before bed. I want to help other families enjoy some story-telling and sensory time together, but I want to help parents meet one another and form friendships, as is so necessary when your Children are young. Groups are for the parents as well as the kids!
I am really excited to go on an adventure with you and your little ones and watching their love of books grow.
