In class we create a busy language-boosting environment surrounding your little-one with sounds, words, sentences, stories, and maybe a letter-shape or two.

Sometimes we will be babbling to each other, sometimes we will be building towers or potting flowers, and other times we'll be listening to music or a story. Whatever we are doing, we will definitely be talking about it.

The most important things about this class are that firstly everyone feels welcome and settled, and secondly the activities are designed to give you and your little-one a fun time together.

These sessions will give babies' speech development a boost, and let grown-ups learn the essential principles of supporting language development at home.

During class I invite you to join in with me to model language and speech. You can pick and choose what you join in with and you are very welcome to sit and watch when you want to.

The 40 minute play session is carefully designed to cater to your child's sensory regulation needs in order to support their concentration. We explore a different texture each week, such as sand, water, or soil, and I think carefully about how stimulating each activity is and how it follows on to the next.

The classes follow the same structure each week, and the class content and objectives follow a six week schedule that will be sent to you after your first booking.

About me, your class-host, Rosa...

Whilst teaching languages in local schools I became more and more interested in how children develop their language skills. I explored this interest during a Masters, studying the first stages of language development and how they are influenced by a child's surroundings. I discovered that each child's neurology is unique, but also that the environment surrounding a child can be tweaked in certain ways to support language development. I then had my first little-one and we discovered he had a genetic variation that could cause his cognitive development to regress. Being a language enthusiast, I threw myself into investigating how best to boost his language skills so that he could keep up with his peers. Having created many language-boosting activities for him, I then found myself wanting to share these with other parents. So, I created Babble Boost. I love hosting this class. I find it a privilege to be a part of every child's language development, and I feel very lucky to be able to do it. It is a creative outlet for me, and also just a lovely way to spend a Tuesday morning, playing and babbling with parents and their babies.

Qualifications...
- Seven years' language teaching experience (French, Spanish and English)
- Masters in 'Special and Inclusive Education' at the UCL Institute of Education (with distinction)
- PGCE in Teaching Languages from UEL
