What Babble Boost says

Together we will give your child's speech development a boost, and you will learn the essential principles of supporting their language development at home.

Each class is split into 3 parts. Firstly we focus on a specific consonant sound (and its letter-shape), then blend it with vowel sounds and also build a word. Next, we do several activities that teach two functional words in different contexts. Finally, we read a story together that is illustrated with props. I will ask you to join in for a lot of the lesson to model speech with me, and you can pick and choose what you join in with. You are very welcome to sit and watch when you want to.

The 40 minute class is carefully designed to cater to your child's sensory regulation needs in order to support their concentration. We explore a different texture each week, such as sand, flowers, slime, water, leaves or soil.

We will surround your little one with sounds, words, sentences, letter shapes, stories, sensory exploration, and most importantly a fun time with you.

Whilst teaching languages in local schools I found myself increasingly interested in how children develop their language skills. So I explored my interest in this during my Masters, studying the first stages of language development and how they are influenced by a child's surroundings. I discovered that each child's neurology is unique, but also that the environment surrounding a child can be tweaked in certain ways to support language development. I find the development of communication skills fascinating, and it is a privilege to be a part of each child's language development journey.

Qualifications...
- Seven years' language teaching experience (French, Spanish and English)
- Masters in 'Special and Inclusive Education' at the UCL Institute of Education (with distinction)
- PGCE in Teaching Languages from UEL
