BEE HAPPY LEARNING
Early literacy workshops to develop children's understanding of storytelling
What Bee Happy Learning says
Bee Happy Learning run Early Literacy Workshops for 3-4 years old. Here, we develop children's understanding of early storytelling, rhyme and alliteration through engaging, interactive sessions. The focus is on expanding children's vocabulary and creativity through retelling stories. We aim to develop children's early phonological awareness by singing songs, identifying rhyme and alliteration. Our interactive sessions run for 30 minutes and encourage children to get their bodies moving as well as their minds.
About
Bee Happy Learning was founded by Jo Thomas in 2020. I discovered that my love and passion for teaching and learning came from working directly with the children and their families not in a mountain of paperwork or analysing data. I have worked in the educational sector for 15 years, gained QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) over ten years ago and more recently qualified as a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Over my years within the profession, I have seen many changes in policies, practices and assessment. Yet, I still hold my one belief that children learn best when they are happy. This was the main concept behind Bee Happy Learning. I believe relationships play an important role in the development of children’s learning. Through these powerful connections, children’s mindset can grow, allowing them to explore and feel no fear of failure. Having spent much of my career working with children of an infant age, I am passionate about early language acquisition and the significance of developing key foundations for children. These foundations provide platforms for children to fly on their educational journeys. Learning should be fun, and children should be able to enjoy and explore their creativity. This is my mission and my hope for all children.
