BRASH THEATRE COMPANY

The Mums' Writing Circle

What Brash Theatre Company says

The Mums' Writing Circle is a weekly mother and baby group centred around Mum, using writing practice to support the transition into motherhood and build community.

We use writing to process our experiences, and take up space as mothers. Drawing on diverse forms and motherhood narratives, from creative non-fiction, to poetry, to plays, we explore and celebrate our own voices and stories, and find ways in which the rhythms of writing practice and every day lives as mums can be intertwined.

For all self-identifying Mum's and their babies (up to 1 years old).

No writing experience is necessary. Just bring a notebook and pen

The Mums' Writing Circle can be booked as 7 week half terms, that run in parallel with the school terms. Each session is £7 (£49 for the half-term). This pays for one adult and their baby(s).

About

Led by award winning writer and BRASH’s Artistic Director, Bethan Kitchen. Her work has been produced with the likes of Northern Stage, Live Theatre, and Park Theatre London.

BRASH provides radical theatrical healthcare and education, serving those left behind by mainstream institutions. We take a holistic approach to health, encompassing the mental, physical, spiritual, and communal. We use theatre practice as a mode of healthcare. We aim to make people seen, heard and validated, sometimes for the first time. We use our work to challenge social stigmas. We equip participants and audiences with the tools to regain ownership over their own bodies and experiences.
