BREATHE AND BIRTH

Supporting anxious expectant parents to ensure positive and empowering births

What Breathe and Birth says

Hypnobirthing is a childbirth preparation technique that uses relaxation, breathing techniques, visualisation, and self-hypnosis to help women have a positive and empowering birth experience.

Hypnobirthing aims to reduce fear and anxiety associated with childbirth and help women trust their bodies and the natural process of birth.

It involves learning how to enter a deep state of relaxation during labour, which can reduce pain and promote feelings of calm and well-being.

The aim of our classes is to provide a full antenatal education to women and their birth partners alongside teaching the techniques and skills needed for a successful hypnobirth.

About

2019 - I began Doula training and volunteered for The Doula Project in Hull, supporting vulnerable women for almost two years.
2021 - I enjoyed it so much that I decided to train as a midwife, and I am now in my second year of studies. As a Hypnobirthing teacher and student midwife, I aim to empower families to make informed decisions about their labour and approach childbirth with excitement rather than fear.

Why did I decide to train to be a hypnobirthing teacher?
As a student, I witnessed a hypnobirth for the first time, which was very different from what I had seen in movies and TV shows. Despite being her first birth, the woman remained calm and in control throughout her three-hour labour, using hypnobirthing techniques. Witnessing this graceful and beautiful birth made me realise the importance of giving every woman the opportunity to experience a positive birth and inspired me to learn more about hypnobirthing.

Who I am
I am incredibly talkative and very friendly. I am an absolute geek and have read every book and listened to every podcast on pregnancy and birth I can find.
- I currently work as a clinical support worker in the hospital with elderly patients.
- I also volunteer at FoodCycle and Gig Buddies alongside my studies.
