CURTAIN CALL DANCE SCHOOL
A fun and friendly dance school for your little dancers
What Curtain Call Dance School says
Kathryn set up Curtain Call to offer an exciting range of styles to the little wigglers of Birmingham and get them putting their dancing energy to good use. She has always put fun first in her classes because she believes that the best thing about dance is the joy it can give you, so it's clear that the best way to dance is to have fun with it!
With classes covering ballet, tap, freestyle, contemporary modern jazz and a little bit of acro, CCDS offers a brilliant range of dance styles. Having all styles within one lesson is unusual for dance schools, but it has many benefits:
Versatility - children can easily apply what they learn in one style to how they perform another, and become well-rounded dancers.
Better friendships - kids develop friendships more quickly with a longer continuous time together at class, and often enjoy the fact that they're all doing the same styles as each other.
More learning - less time spent 'warming up'/'cooling down' and more time spent dancing!
With brand new classes this Autumn, CCDS is the ideal place for your little one to start their dancing journey. We are a young dance school which means we're brimming with exciting new ideas, creative teaching and plenty of energy to match our students'! We plan on growing and growing over the next few years to offer even more classes for a wider age range of children, and possibly adults too.
Don't just watch this space, get involved, be part of our Curtain Call family and let's get dancing!
Curtain Call aims to...
1. Provide a fun, encouraging relaxed environment for children to express themselves through dance
2. Work with children to build their confidence through movement
3. Create opportunities for young dancers to perform and to progress in dance exams
About
Hi, I'm Kathryn. I'm the owner of Curtain Call and the teacher of all it's classes.
I've danced for over 20 years, covering a range of styles including ballet, tap, jazz, acro and contemporary up to university level, as well as years of vocational training in the IDTA syllabus. In addition to Curtain Call, I run Act 2 Dance Company, and work with KDDK in primary schools around Birmingham.
With years of experience teaching in dance schools, primary schools and universities, I'm beyond delighted to now be sharing my passion with the young dancers of Bournville and Billesley.
Here we go, Curtain Call!
