What Halifax Sport Karate says

Based in Halifax, established in 2005 by Calderdale coach of the year 2013 Sensei Matt Handley 4th Dan black belt, Matthew is an Ekf and Wkf Accredited and certified kumite Coach. A former British karate champion, English medalist, and England representative and is current national para karate coach. Also former England northern regional kumite coach and English karate federation Disablity Ambassador. The club is a great place for people to meet new friends, get fit and also learn how to defend yourself. The club teaches Halifax's very own style of karate Bushido Ryu Kempo do founded in Halifax in 1982. The club has produced many English, British and International champions and has produced England karate team representatives in both kata and kumite the club was highly commended in 2011 at the Calderdale sports awards and has seen its students win Calderdale awards for best junior sport person male and female, Disabilty sport person and coach of the year. Halifax Sport Karate is affiliated to Bushido Ryu association and is Proud members of the English karate federation and the WKF (world karate federation). The club caters for all ages and abilities. Our Club is a Family run dojo that Promotes Martial Arts, self defence, fitness, confidence and discipline. All instructors are DBS checked and first aid trained.
