What JMDS says

Welcome to JMDS from me and my wonderful teachers. Our dance- and stage-training classes are fun, friendly and professional. Ballet lessons are at the heart of our curriculum, which also includes tap dancing, modern, acro, street, contemporary and commercial dance, drama and musical theatre, making our keen students all-round performers if that’s their goal.

Most of our students come to experience the fun and increased self-esteem engendered by dancing - and we wholeheartedly encourage that - but some develop their talents and go on to dance and perform professionally. Right now we have students at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, the London Studio Centre, LIPA and Laine Theatre Arts, among others.

As well as our regular dance classes we have an annual choreography competition, in which every student can perform solo, duet or group items; we enter students for the national performing arts competition The British Arts Awards - regularly winning multiple first place trophies; and we have an annual Presentation Day and biannual show so all our students experience performing for an audience. JMDS follows the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and British Arts syllabi for exams. Our Distinction rate is high, and we are the only part-time dance school in the area that teaches from Baby age group right up to Advanced 2 in ballet, tap and modern dance.

I am so proud of my students and teachers, and love to welcome new students from age 3 right up to 18 into the JMDS family.
