About

Founded in 2020 by Joanna Mason (BA Hons, GTP, NPQSL) KAMT is a part-time Musical Theatre academy for all ages, from toddlers right through to adults, offering a variety of classes.

Kent Academy of Musical Theatre aims to offer all of our students wonderful opportunities to explore and express their creativity, passion and enthusiasm for Musical Theatre by taking part in classes focusing on acting, dance, singing and fitness as well as opportunities for examinations, competitions, theatre visits, workshops/masterclasses and performances.

Every year, we promise to offer our students the following opportunities*:

• Performing in one show a year

• An after-show party (academy students only)

• Performing in a one-off show night

• A ‘family fun’ evening (a quiz, a murder mystery night etc.)

• A theatre trip to see a musical in London’s West End

• A local theatre trip to see a musical (The Marlowe or The Orchard Theatre)

• A trip to The Marlowe Theatre pantomime

• One professional workshop with a West End performer

• One professional headshot taken if your audition is successful (Junior and Senior Musical Theatre academy only)

• One guest teacher workshop per term (Musical Theatre academy only)

• An opportunity to take part in competitions (specific classes only)

• An invite to our annual awards evening and the chance to win a prize for your hard work during the year!
