What Little Dippers Ltd says

Introduce your baby to the many benefits of baby swimming and teach them a skill for life with the original baby water safety programme devised by baby swim pioneer and founder of Little Dippers' Lauren Heston. Celebrating over 30 years of teaching babies to love the water, our aim is to teach babies and toddlers key water safety techniques in a way that is both fun and nurturing.

As one of the first activities you can do with your baby, swimming is a great way to build the bond between you and your baby with special one to one time and skin to skin contact. While the exercises we teach help to strengthen heart, lungs and muscles and develop cognitive skills.

Classes last 30 mins and take place at our lovely private warm water pools in Brighton, Putney, Oxshott and Chertsey. The water is heated to a balmy 34C and chlorine levels are kept low to be kinder to skin and eyes. Aqua sensory lighting and small classes help to create a calmer and nurturing environment for both parent and baby.

Little Dippers' came into being 30 years' ago while founder Lauren Heston, then an underwater model was filming an advert for British Gas which involved swimming underwater with a baby; a very controversial image at the time!
Lauren observed how naturally the baby adapted to the water and decided to investigate this phenomenon.

This lead her to a study on Russian premature baby techniques in aquatic environments and watching how newborn babies responded so naturally to the water. It was this that inspired her to develop her highly respected and unique water safety programme the Little Dippers' programme specifically designed for babies to teach them key water safety techniques which could one day save their lives.
