Come and join us for free Storytimes in our libraries. A chance for babies and toddlers to enjoy some brilliant stories together and explore the library space, and a chance for adults to connect and unwind with other parents and carers. Derby Libraries has a brilliant collection of children’s books including sensory board books, songs and rhyme books and of course lots of amazing stories by award winning authors and illustrators. After each Storytime staff will be on hand to answer any questions and help families explore our stock. They are fun, free, interactive sessions that last about 30 minutes and bring adults and children together in a safe and supportive environment. The sessions are informal learning opportunities that model and encourage the singing of songs and rhymes and the sharing of stories with young children and are a powerful learning source in the early years of literacy development.
