Fun, friendly Ballroom and Latin American dance classes based in Ockbrook, Derby. All classes are ran by fully qualified dance teachers under the National Association of Teachers of Dancing.
At On the Floor Dance Academy your child can learn to dance like their Strictly favourite - professional or celebrity.
We offer a range of dance classes for all ages and abilities.
Early Movers - 2-4 years. In this class children can develop their own creativity, rhythm, expression, speech and language skills, develop friendships and a love of dance!
Strictly kids - 5 years plus. In this class we take all the fundamentals to the next level!! Children can learn all the Ballroom and Latin American dances for examinations or just for fun! During our social session we learn line dances and freestyle dances.
Strictly for Adults - 16 years plus. In this class 1 Ballroom and 1 Latin American routine are taught over a 4 week course, with a few popular sequence dances or line dances thrown in for good measure. These routines can be transferred to the dance floor at celebrations, cruises etc.
Private lessons and First Wedding Dances are available on request. No request is too big or too small.
I am fully Paediatric First Aid Trained, First Aid trained, Food Hygiene trained, DBS checked.
About
I have been dancing since the age of 3 , working through the examination grades and took my first professional qualification at the age of 18. I have competed in many different competitions across the country. I created On the Floor Dance Academy in 2011 to share my love and passion for Ballroom and Latin American Dancing. Since it's creation our students have taken many examinations, always passing with the highest marks possible - Highly Commended. To celebrate these incredible achievements we hold an Annual Medal Presentation with cabaret who perform a fabulous demonstration and present the trophies and awards. We have competed in local social competitions and National competitions at the Winter Gardens and Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
We are a dance school who can facilitate your dancing journey if it is for fun, fitness, exercise, social or to become the next Strictly Star!!!
