POSTNATAL YOGA WITH SARAH SAVAGE
Yoga and movement classes for postnatal healing and recovery. Babies welcome
What Postnatal yoga with Sarah Savage says
A small, mum-focused yoga and movement class for postnatal healing and recovery.
A welcoming, everything-goes space to meet other mums, ease out tired bodies, and maybe rest a tired mind for a bit too.
Classes take place at the therapeutic, peaceful haven that is The Sunflower Centre, overlooking Hilly Fields (perfect for post-yoga coffees).
For anyone who has recently had a baby and would like to take time to re-connect to themselves and their body. Babies up to crawling are welcome to attend but you are also welcome to come alone and enjoy an hour to yourself.
However you show up (it's all welcome!), this is a nugget of time to slow down and focus on you.
Sessions incorporate:
grounding, nurturing mindfulness and awareness practices
gentle, somatic movement and yoga flow
exercises to mobilise, strengthen and ease tension in the body
breath work
rest
These sessions are an invitation to listen in to your body and explore moving in a way that feels good to you, recognising that every body is different and every person’s postpartum experience unique.
No previous yoga experience is necessary, but do wait until you've had the all-clear at your 6-8 week GP check before coming along, and you may decide to wait at least eight weeks if you're recovering from a caesarean birth.
