Bearwood Suzuki Group’s Family Music Time is a mixed age early years music class for children 0-3 years old & the grown ups who love them.

Our weekly one hour music classes are taught by a team of 2 trained, caring teachers with an emphasis on joy, positivity & encouragement for every family. We follow the Suzuki Early Childhood Education UK curriculum, which is a wonderfully structured approach, featuring 2 weeks of repertoire delivered on a rotating basis, to encourage thorough mastery. Our classes focus on the philosophy that every child can learn & through our engaging activities we develop social, cognitive, musical & motor skills, including numeracy & vocabulary, fostering empathy & group sensitivity, taking turns, confidence in communicating, an understanding of dynamics, pitch, rhythm & pulse, a love of learning & an emphasis on the importance of community, all in an inclusive & nurturing environment.

You might be wondering what to expect in the class:
- Each class we listen to music. We always start with a familiar classical piece & may explore other music during the term.
- We sing songs & recite nursery rhymes together, growing musically as a community.
- We play high quality, real musical instruments & enjoy their beautiful sounds.
- We move our bodies by dancing, marching in time, twirling, jumping, & doing other fun actions.
- We all learn through play & discovery, by watching & imitating teachers & role models, joining in as much as possible with no pressure to perform or get it ‘right’.
- We nurture a happy, calm, inclusive learning environment, so we can connect through music.
- We celebrate every small step of progress. Grown ups keep a record of beautiful moments they observe in their child’s personal class journal.
- We read beautiful stories together & connect with other families.

- All children must be accompanied by a participating adult (1:1) in every class.
- Tuition is payable termly, due at the first class of the term.
- The fee is £10 per class, until further notice. We offer discounted places for
families on a low income, please do let us know if you need this.
- Tuition is non-refundable. Payment secures your place in the class, we cannot
offer refunds for missed classes.
- Parents should listen to the recordings and practise the songs and rhymes
with their children at home.
- We reserve the right to cancel any classes due to lack of enrollment.
