BRACKEN SPRINGS FOREST SCHOOL

From little acorns grow great trees! Here we are in a little meadow beside a wood in North Boarhunt not far from the ancient forest of Bere and busier areas. As the main leader of the group , Pema is insured and trained forest school leader with years of experience both as an environmental educator and also as a mum of three lively children. We can play the violin and sing with children as well as encourage instruments too to start and end sessions or sometimes as whole session depending on needs of group. It will there be a space where we can let the children explore and grow, have a campfire on occasion and play with natural materials and have the space for parents to relax and form friendships without costing the earth. Sessions will run in all weathers and so long-sleeved and outdoor clothing and footwear is recommended.

We will meet at North Boarhunt Recreation Ground Across the Road then I will take the group to the venue which is a small private meadow and woodland and only ours to use during the week. There will be a compost toilet available for adults, running water, an area where children can be changed and activities such as mud kitchen, toys etc and hammocks to play in. Snacks and drinks are included in price but any donations towards extra overheads if the group decides they are comfortable with campfire/woodcrafts are welcomed according to individual child needs. Parents stay with children. Allergies and medical conditions will be requested along with emergency contacts at first session and will be kept confidential and secure. Parents advised to bring outdoor clothing and wellies for toddling children along with long sleeves, suncream/insect repellent and a change of clothes for natural exploration.
