Description
We can offer a fully funded, free to attend block of 8 sessions to each family to attend one of four weekly courses, as part of the Bolton Council Start Well provision for under 5s. We make best use of the centre's outdoor spaces, and offer families the chance to explore muddy, messy nature play in a safer environment. Following forest school ethos means that the sessions are led by the what engages the children, and follows their learning and strengths. They are led by a qualified and experienced forest school leader to support parents to go out of their comfort zones.
Families welcome to join a block of 8 mid way through if there is availability. We encourage families to commit to attending the full block of 8, as far as possible. This helps build children's confidence and independence, and gives them a chance to form stronger relationships with the other children, the forest school leaders and the space itself. Activities might include mud kitchen, nature crafts, nature exploration, scavenger hunt, mark making, stories and songs. Free play is encouraged throughout. Each week will be a standalone theme, such as birds, hedgehogs, squirrels, mental health and activities offered will be themed around the theme.
Under 1s welcome to accompany older siblings.
Families are encouraged to attend the full block, as it is run like a course, to get the most out of it.
Families can join throughout the course though, if there are spaces.
Under 1s welcome when accompanying older siblings.
