Description

I have created this Mothers' Circle to help mums find a nurturing space where they can build meaningful connections with other mothers and build their village.

Mothers are welcome to come along by themselves or they can bring along any children of any age. You may wish to bring along something to entertain older ones.

My intention is to provide a place to connect, be accepted, feel empowered, gain support and nurture wellness through sharing stories and experiences of motherhood.

Give yourself some love and care to rest, reflect, restore and re-energise.

Mothers’ Circles create an opportunity to co-regulate with others, increase oxytocin (the feel-good hormone) and form a community to hold us.

Come and learn more about who you are, learn to trust yourself and your own decisions. Gain more confidence in yourself as an individual and as a mum.

There is a relaxed arrival time to allow you to get yourself a hot cup of herbal tea, enjoy some light refreshments and meet the other mums.

We will then start our sharing circle around 11:30. This will start with a ‘Welcome’, some ‘Housekeeping’, sharing of ‘Boundaries’ a short ‘Grounding in’ exercise followed by calling ourselves to the circle.

I will then introduce the theme for the session.

Every mother attending will have the opportunity to share about her current joys and challenges of being a mum, and add her thoughts on the session’s theme. After everyone has had an opportunity to share, we will close the circle.

There will be an opportunity to engage in some simple mindful creative and nurturing activities. Activities will be different at every session and may include simple art/crafting activities like colouring-in, creating collages/vision boards, journaling, self-massage, foot bath, craft making, affirmation/poetry writing and singing/chanting.

We will close the circle with a gentle guided relaxation to some soothing music.

New Street Community Gardens is near to Horsham Train Station and nearby bus stops. There is plenty of street parking in nearby roads, no need to pay after 10am. Devonshire Road, Cambridge Road, Oxford Road, Clarence Road and other nearby roads should have plenty of parking available. New Street itself is harder to find a space but not impossible. Please check road signs yourself as I cannot take responsibility for where you choose to park.

Accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

No toilets available at this park. Public toilets are a short walking distance.

Please let me know if there is anything I should be aware of in advance. This might be if you have any allergies/sensitivities to smells or skin products, any health conditions, special needs or circumstances.

Donations are welcome of any amount. This is genuinely completely optional. Please only give if you have the financial means to. There will be a tin to give discretely on the day so that no one will know the amount you put in. Or you can ask me for details to transfer online if preferred.
