READY, STEADY, GO PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

The group leader has seen first-hand the importance of developing young children’s language and communication development through talk, stories, music, songs and rhymes. Rhyme can also help prepare children for reading and writing as they get older. These rhyme time sessions are aimed at bringing together parents/carers and their young children, through rhyme in a safe and stimulating environment. Grandparents and other older family members are also encouraged to come along and join in the fun!
Each week we will sing familiar nursery rhymes and songs. All adults and children will be encouraged to participate with the singing and actions. There will be instruments, steamers, puppets, props or a parachute to make the singing more engaging for all. Be prepared for a work out!
The activities and toys set out for the session will link to each week’s focus rhyme. We encourage family members to support their young child when playing to make the most of this language rich experience. So why not be one of the monkeys jumping on the bed, be the driver/passenger on the bus or even visit the zoo with us in our weekly rhyme time session.
Refreshments are available for adults and children during the session and, most importantly, time for all to chat, play and develop new friendships.
