I’ve always loved reading—it’s been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Books have this magical way of transporting you to different worlds, and I’ve carried that love into how I parent. I read daily with my 4-year-old, and it’s one of our favorite parts of the day. Watching how stories spark her imagination and help her make sense of the world inspired me to create something special for other children.

I started this sensory class because I want every child, especially those with SEND, to experience the magic of books in a way that suits their unique needs.

Traditional storytime doesn’t always work for children who process the world differently, so I wanted to create an environment where stories come alive—where children can feel, touch, and experience the story in ways that make sense to them.

Combining books with sensory play helps children engage their senses, build confidence, and connect with the story on their terms. It’s also a chance for parents and caregivers to share beautiful moments with their children, just as I do with mine. For me, it’s all about making stories accessible, inclusive, and joyful for every child.
