TINY MINDS

Tiny Minds pre-school classes are designed to be a fun, interactive, play session in preparation for your little one starting school in September 2024.

Classes will be structured similarly each week, with a short group time, exploring/playing and learning time, completing an activity with the class leader (over the course of the term), interacting with others, taking turns, promoting self-confidence and more.

All the experiences we will share will be in line with the early year’s framework, which will be the curriculum your little one will follow once starting school in reception. They will be a lovely way to ease your child into early years play and learning.
There will be several stations set up with sensory activities in line with a general theme each week. The aim is for your child to become more confident and independent as the weeks progress.
Learning through play is so important, and each week we will be building on our prior knowledge covering elements of the 7 areas of learning your child will cover once starting school.
The 7 areas are:
-communication and language
-literacy (reading, writing etc.)
-mathematics
-personal, social, and emotional development
-expressive arts and design
-physical development
-Understanding the World

These are then broken down into smaller chunks of learning. Of course, we will not be able to cover everything within our sessions, and these are just a glimpse into life in school.

The aim is that your child attends a block of sessions, so that they get to know one another and who will be leading the session.

The initial session will be a chance to get to know each other and a time for parents/carers to be with their child. Over the session or weeks, there will then be a designated area for parents/carers to sit and get to no one another with a hot drink.
