Description
A PAYG session for expectant parents and new parents (with babies up to 18 months) to socialise, meet other like-minded parents, share experiences and make new friends. Parents can turn up at any point between 12 noon and 2pm - there is no obligation to stay for the entire session. (However, no hot drinks after 1.30pm - to allow for washing up!)
If parents are interested, baby signing (makaton) and a short music session may be included. Toys will be available for babies to play. As the group becomes established, it is hoped that talks from organisations such as BEARS, Belper Cloth Nappy Library (BCNL), baby frist aid and similar, and activities - hand / footprints on ceramics, photographers etc - wll also be invited along for special events.
Entrance fee includes a hot or cold drink and a biscuit. Dads, grandparents and other relatives / friends all welcome.
This is a not for profit group run by volunteers. The aim is to offer help and advice to new and expectant parents, to get parents out to socialise and combat loneliness and PND.
Disabled access and toilet. Breastfeeding friendly group. Limited parking (up to 8-10 cars) but other (paid) parking available on Field Lane and Bridge Street. Hall is not easy to find - access is opposite Elaichi Indian Restaurant, directly behind The Hollies which is a large red brick building visible from the A6. Hal cannot be seen from the A6.
