School Ready with Jo workshops for 3-4 year olds

What School Ready with Jo says

School Ready with Jo workshops are inclusive, enjoyable, welcoming and motivating for all children and parents/carers. They will scaffold learning and support children’s thinking, communication and ability to plan ahead through a variety of tasks. Each 60-minute workshop will have a selection of planned activities and themed sessions. These sessions will enable many practical skills to develop on a weekly basis.

Your child will develop many skills which will include:
*building confidence and ability to bounce back when things become difficult
*develop independence skills
*develop problem-solving skills and plan what to do next
*monitor and adapt creative thinking and ability to communicate
*self-regulate and understand strong feelings and emotions
*how to build friendships and interact with others
*develop their focus, concentration and attention span
*develop ability to hold information in their mind
*follow instructions to carry out set tasks

Each workshop will cater for a small group of 8 to 12 children.

About

Hi everyone, I am Jo. I am a passionate, enthusiastic and specialist Early Years teacher with 21 years of experience in Primary Education. I have been fortunate to work in a variety of settings/locations which have enriched my teaching career. I am a practitioner with a deep understanding of Child Development, Communication and Inclusion.

I feel it is really important that children are provided with the right care, opportunities and support to develop a wide range of skills needed to become confident learners ready for life.

My workshops are an opportunity to give your little one quality time which is free from all the distractions of life. The EYFS framework sets the standards that all early year’s providers must meet to guarantee that children learn and develop well. It ensures children are kept healthy and safe. It also ensures that children have the knowledge and skills they need to start school. Characteristics of effective learning play an important part in children’s development and education. They are woven through all my workshop activities. It is vital for each child to explore and develop their confidence within these areas to become learners ready for life.
All adults will have the opportunity to discuss thoughts, feelings and ask questions about school readiness. I strongly believe that the support should be there for both adults and children. It is an important journey that we will all take together.
