When I set up the baby bank I wanted it to be accessible for anyone who needed a bit of help. I don’t believe it is my place to set a criteria if who we will help - who am I to judge peoples current situations and deem them ‘bad enough’ for help or not. Anyones situation can change in a second - we are not about creating barriers to support. The baby bank was started as we believe that babies and young children should have access to the basic essentials they need to feel safe and secure. In the past 6 months it’s grown to also providing clothing and items to mums & dads also. We have come across some desperate situations where no one else would help & built relationships with families so they feel able to ask for a bag of nappies or some baby wipes when they need them. We have been blessed by amazing people who donate to us & make contributions so we can provide what families need.
