Developed with the help of Speech and Language experts and launched in January 2001, the "Sing and Sign" programme has since taught tens of thousands of parents across the UK how to sign with their babies and encourage amazing early communication.
About
Hi, my name is Stevie and I run the Sing and Sign classes with Liz & Jo in the Sheffield area.
Signing with my babies was one of the most magical and rewarding things I have ever done, and I am so blessed to now be able to share this joy with the parents/babies that attend our classes.
Sing and Sign is easy to learn, super enjoyable for the babies (and their care givers) and it is a wonderful tool to support the receptive (understanding) and expressive communication of baby. It supports baby’s ability to express their needs, thoughts and ideas through gesture before they develop their ability to use words (and even after!).
Both my girls signed early and went on to talk early (Warning: they haven’t been quiet since). Good communication, is at the foundation of many other skills, and I firmly believe that this early input has played a significant role in supporting my children to flourish in their early education.
My background is in Speech and Language, Early Years/Primary Education and SEND and I feel really passionately about what Sing and Sign has to offer our families.
