SOUNDS ALIVE
Pre school phonics classes
What Sounds Alive says
These classes are a great way to prepare your child for school and reading. Classes start with an adult led circle time where early language and phonics skills are taught in a fun, engaging and playful way. Through songs, games, movement and puppets.
The second part of the class is set up for independent play activities linked to the sound of the week as well as developing fine motor and mark making skills ready for writing.
Here are some reviews from Parents:
"Laura's Sounds Alive classes are fantastic. My son loved going each week. Laura is so amazing with the children and as a primary school teacher is able to keep them so engaged and have so much fun whilst learning their phonics, which is an amazing foundation for them before they start school. The sensory play and craft activities are brilliant and it's such good value!!"
"My son attended Sounds Alive for a few month. Had he not attended the classes, I think he would really not have been familiar with phonics and the concept. As soon as he started school, within the first week he really started to enjoy learning letters and sounds. By the end of the first half term, we could proudly say that he could spell out 3, 4 and some 5 letter words by sound and say the word!
I am so thankful for Sounds Alive and what they have done to prepare my son for school. I love watching his progress and love for learning and especially sounds and phonics.
Thank you Sounds Alive!"
About
I'm Laura, an Early Years and Primary School teacher with over 20 years classroom experience. I recognise that many parents want to support their children, not only in their journey through school, but also before they start school.
In order for children to be able to succeed at reading they need to develop the foundations of phonics.
Through my Sounds Alive classes I aim to help children develop these skills in a fun, playful way.
