About

Hi, I’m Nicola and I am thrilled to be the owner of Tappy Toes - Lanarkshire, covering Coatbridge, Airdrie and surrounding areas. I am so excited about meeting you all and to build a dance community within the local area.

My love for dancing began at a very young age when I joined my local dance school, learning a variety of styles and techniques. I then went on to become a qualified dance teacher with the BATD at 17 years old and began teaching at a range of dance schools and to a variety of ages.

In 2014, I opened my own dance school where I taught a variety of styles to children from two years of age. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and thought of those children as my ‘dance family’.

I am also a qualified primary teacher and have been teaching for 14 years. I have a great deal of experience in teaching a variety of ages, catering for different learning styles and ensuring that I engage the interest of all learners in my care.

I have lived and taught in Pisa, Italy, before travelling around and teaching in Cambodia and Vietnam. I even taught them Scottish Country Dance!

Having two beautiful young daughters of my own, I realise the importance of parent and children classes. They were the highlight of my week! The social aspect and support network at these classes were invaluable and I loved seeing my girls thrive, develop confidence and make friends. I can’t wait to offer this to you too!
