Started in 1992 by husband-and-wife team, David and Diane Cox (a potent combination of professional musician and early years teacher), The Jolly Melodies Music Company (formerly known as ‘Music with Mummy’) has been delivering music to children up and down the country ever since!
With our wonderful unique music, as well as the traditional songs you and your child already know and love, our carefully structured weekly sessions provide the very best in early music education and exploration. In addition, our programme is carefully designed to target child development and early learning across other areas too: listening and language skills for example, social and emotional development, even, as our older class attendees start to gain readiness, early numeracy!
Our unique classes are deliberately kept small enough to feel all-inclusive and super-friendly and to enable the class leader to really get to know, and therefore get the very best from, your individual child.
Classes run all over the country by our carefully selected Jolly Melodies leaders. All have an enhanced DBS, full public liability insurance and regular safeguarding training.

Hello,
I run Music with Mummy in and around Newbury. The sessions run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, I hope that you can join me for some of the amazing music session happening weekly in and around your area.
Here’s a little more about me…
Since I left my post as a Drama Teacher, there was something missing from my life. Joining a choir helped fulfil some of this, as I love to sing. But I still needed a place to be creative, to be active and work with children. Then I remembered my time with my two children at Music with Mummy. I took both Eli and Ava to Music with Mummy, and it soon became a highlight of our week.
It was a time to just be with my babies, not worry about chores or other responsibilities, but just delight in their smiles and curiosity. My son loved the noise he could make and the energy of the sessions. My daughter loved the singing and learning the actions, in fact she still remembers nearly all of them 6 years later!
I loved the most welcoming, safe and joyful atmosphere. I remember watching in awe as both children settled down for a cuddle at listening time and stayed still for a whole minute! I feel so lucky to be part of the team. I am really looking forward to this new adventure with you all.
