Started in 1992 by husband-and-wife team, David and Diane Cox (a potent combination of professional musician and early years teacher), The Jolly Melodies Music Company (formerly known as ‘Music with Mummy’) has been delivering music to children up and down the country ever since!

With our wonderful unique music, as well as the traditional songs you and your child already know and love, our carefully structured weekly sessions provide the very best in early music education and exploration. In addition, our programme is carefully designed to target child development and early learning across other areas too: listening and language skills for example, social and emotional development, even, as our older class attendees start to gain readiness, early numeracy!

Our unique classes are deliberately kept small enough to feel all-inclusive and super-friendly and to enable the class leader to really get to know, and therefore get the very best from, your individual child.

Classes run all over the country by our carefully selected Jolly Melodies leaders. All have an enhanced DBS, full public liability insurance and regular safeguarding training.

Winchester Mummies and Daddies, you need ‘Jolly Josie’ in your life! I’ve been here in Winchester teaching The Jolly Melodies Programme since 2006 now; small, structured classes with simply gorgeous songs, music and activities. We were formerly known as ‘Music with Mummy’ but nothing else has changed, I assure you, just our name! You’ll know many of the traditional favourites and you will grow to adore our original creations. I recall one of my Mummies saying that we were quite literally THE soundtrack to her children’s early years and playtimes – when she looks back now, it is our music and song that was there as she raised her family in those first five years. Love it!

As an ex-primary teacher with an honours degree in child education and qualified teacher status, I have had years of teaching experience with school-age children, but it wasn’t until Jolly Melodies entered my life (as a Mother taking my own young family to the class) that I began to realise the joy of working with the magical early years. From the tiniest new baby beginning to hit those very first developmental milestones up to my toddlers and pre-schoolers that are working with tempo or pitch and are finding their rhythm and VOICE – it’s just an utter joy and privilege to be part of your child’s early learning journey and to facilitate the musical experience, the fun, the laughter, the smiles, the special moments and the song.
