What The Wildside- learning through nature CIC says
Set in an urban environment, easily accessible by public transport links is our little oasis, the Wildside. We're a community interest company/ non-profit based on the Forest School ethos and education model. Our mission is to offer people of all ages and walks of life an opportunity to pause, listen and connect with themselves, each other and nature. Only by feeling a connection with our environment and community, will ever be able to truly look after it and each other. Forest School 6 core principles: it's a long-term process of regular sessions, rather than one-off or infrequent visits; the cycle of planning, observation, adaptation and review links each session. takes place in nature to support the development of a lifelong relationship between the learner and the natural world. uses a range of learner-centred processes to create a community for being, development and learning promotes the holistic development of all involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners offers learners the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves run by qualified Forest School practitioners who continuously maintain and develop their professional practice
