Hello my name is Michelle Webb and I teach TinyTalk baby signing and Toddler classes in Bracknell and Wokingham. I have two gorgeous TinyTalkers of my own, Matthew and Amelia

When I became a new mum, I looked for baby and toddler classes. Baby signing was one that hugely interested me, so Matthew and I started TinyTalk lessons when he was 5 months old. We both loved the classes right from the start. The energetic songs, learning a new skill (both him and me), meeting other mums & dads and as the saying goes, “I liked it so much I bought the company", well not quite, but I did want to help other parents benefit from baby signing, so my TinyTalk classes in this area were born.

Communication is such a key skill and it’s never too early to learn. Many mums and dads don’t realise how eager their baby is to communicate with them. Right from birth, they are just bursting full of things they want to tell you. This is where baby signing with TinyTalk can help.

I quickly found that Matthew was able to pick up signs and communicate from just 8 months, admittedly his first sign wasn’t the most useful in the home; ‘cow’, but he quickly followed up with ‘milk’, ’food’, ’drink’ and of course ‘more’. Rather than screaming and crying, I’d given my son the ability to talk to me and others, to tell me what he needed, without all the frustrations babies get from not being able to tell their parents what they want, and need. Before he was able to speak, Matthew could tell us if he was thirsty, hungry, if he’d had enough food or drink, if we were doing something he didn’t like, and along the way, have fun.

You can bring your baby to TinyTalk baby signing lessons from birth and Toddler classes from around 18 months. The stimulating environment and social aspect of each class will appeal to even newborns.

Each TinyTalk baby signing and Toddler class is about an hour long, comprising of 30 minutes of signing and singing nursery rhymes, and then 30 minutes of social time. You’ll get refreshments whilst your child can play with a variety of toys and socialise with other children. This is a great way for you to bond with your baby as well as chat with other like-minded parents and carers.
