WILD THINGS DANCE
Dance and nature in Hackney, for 2-4 year olds with their grown-ups
What Wild Things Dance says
Wild Things in Hackney: a chance to move, explore and have plenty of fun with your little one, outside beneath the trees, whatever the weather. Community Dance Artist and Forest School Leader Olly Otley leads you on a different adventure each week: exploring, watching, listening, leaping, lifting, stomping and spinning, all to great music.
“We love all the dancing, jumping, running, moving to music, silliness - it’s just wonderful!” Lilou’s mum
“I like how free the children feel to make the session what they want - exploring using their imaginations” Remy’s mum
“Joni is more confident around other kids thanks to these sessions, and we find new creative ways to enjoy the outdoors together, we have made some really lovely new friends. Olly brings out a sunny lightness and brightness in all of us on even the cloudy & rainy winter days!” Joni’s mum
At Wild Things, the parents join in and are sometimes the followers as well as the leaders. We warm up our bodies and wake up our brains, moving and making with things we find in nature, playing games like hide and seek and musical statues, climbing over, under and around each other and the trees, discovering pathways that lead through popular stories, occasionally learning ceilidh or disco moves, and always cooling down with bubbles and cuddles.
About
I am a dancer, a forest school leader and a mother of two. Facilitating outdoor dancing with children and their parents is what I love the most.
