Our First Aid Playgroup is a relaxed and welcoming session designed for parents and carers to learn essential baby and child first aid while their little ones play. We know how busy life can be, so we’ve created a space where you can gain lifesaving skills without the need for childcare!
During the session, you’ll learn how to handle common childhood emergencies, including:
✅ Recovery positions & when to seek medical help
✅ CPR & choking for babies children and adults
✅ How to manage burns, bumps & bleeds
✅ Febrile seizures & allergic reactions
✅ How to assess and manage childhood illnesses
All sessions are friendly and hands-on, ensuring you leave feeling confident and prepared. Babies and toddlers are welcome to play alongside you in a safe environment while you learn.
About
Hi, I’m Marta, an NHS cardiac nurse and a parent who knows just how overwhelming it feels when your little one is hurt or unwell. My passion for first aid began within my nursing carer when working in A&E and as a Resuscitation Specialist Nurse, my experience with resuscitating my dad is 2019 gave me the drive to start Hand on Heart First Aid Training. After my step children entered my life and I have a little girl I saw first hand the importance for every parent to know First Aid.
As a parent, I’ve faced moments where time seemed to slow down—like when my little girl started choking, or when a sudden fever spiked dangerously high. Those moments made me realise how crucial it is for parents to feel confident and not panicked in an emergency.
That’s why I created First Aid Playgroup—a relaxed, baby-friendly space where parents and carers can learn lifesaving skills without the worry of childcare. I know how hard it is to find time for courses when you have little ones, so I’ve designed sessions where you can learn practical first aid while your baby or toddler plays safely nearby.
In our sessions, you’ll gain hands-on knowledge in managing choking, CPR, burns, fevers, allergic reactions, and more, so you’ll feel prepared rather than powerless if something happens.
