Description

This is a 4 week baby massage course, and is for parents/carers and babies.

Parents/carers can confidently and safely learn how to massage their babies, and is also an opportunity to meet other parents and discuss all things 'baby'.

Baby massage can help with digestive issues, improve muscle tone, calm unsettled babies (and parents!) and promote bonding - an all-round wonderful skill.

Each week we concentrate on a different body part. Over the weeks, we build up to a full body massage, so parents/carers and babies can get used to the new sensations and techniques.

The class approximately 45 mins in length. With 30 mins at the end to stay and chat to other parents.

Baby massage is suitable for babies at any age. But best started early, from around 5 weeks to pre-crawling. Also another good time to start is once the baby has had their 6-8 week postnatal check.

4 Week course:
Week 1 - Legs & Feet
Week 2 - Stomach
Week 3 - Chest & Arms
Week 4 - Face & Back

Booking info & prices

We will massage baby on the floor, as this is the safest way to begin massage. For the classes, you will need: (a) A small towel to lay baby on. (b) A small blanket for covering baby when they are undressed down to their nappies. (c) Massage oil suitable for your baby- it is recommended, that organic cold pressed, unscented oils are best. Vegetable oils. e.g. Sunflower oil, or coconut oil work well. (d) Optional - A small cushion for you to sit on. We supply - Mats for both you and baby. Advisory Note: Olive Oil is good for cooking, recent research suggests it is not recommended for babies skin, due to having high oleic acid. After booking, you will receive an email with further information. Cancellation Policy: In exceptional circumstances, such as extended sickness or bereavement, and you need to cancel your booking for the course. Provided cancellation is requested more than 14 days before the start date, you will receive a full refund of any fees paid, minus a £10 admin fee. Anything less than this, you may be offered an alternative date to attend, or offered a 50% refund minus the £10 admin fee.
