Description
Each week we learn to make a new dish from scratch, in a small, relaxed and inclusive class from a home kitchen.
Children are invited to explore ingredients using their senses and we learn about where food comes from. Your child will have fun learning to safely chop, measure, mix, grate, knead…and so much more. It’s amazing how much even young children can do in the kitchen with just a bit of support and it’s a great way to grow their confidence and independence.
Cooking also naturally weaves in so much other fun learning - from maths when we recognise numbers on scales or cut things into halves, quarters or different shapes, to science when we watch what happens when we combine different foods or see how the heat of the oven transforms the taste and texture of foods.
A snack, drink and activities are all provided whilst the food cooks in the oven and you can enjoy a hot drink on the sofa (under 5s need an adult to stay). Everyone leaves with the food they’ve proudly made, fully packed to take home, plus a wipeable recipe card with nutritional information, so you can choose your favourites to recreate at home.
Aprons are provided and washing up is taken care of, so you can focus on having fun with your little one and forget about the mess! If your child is 5 years or older, you’re welcome to drop them off if they’re comfortable with that.
Please note - babies and younger siblings are welcome to come along but children must be aged 2+ to participate in the class. If you have your hands full with a younger sibling, I’m happy to help your older child to cook!
