Rock-A-Bye Babies is a sling and dance support group for babies and their adults. It will encourage bonding through baby wearing and movement, great for all babies and parents, including those who may be experiencing symptoms of postnatal depression.

Why Baby wearing?
"The close contact of carrying not only impacts on a child's development in the short and long term, it also encourages closer, healthier and happier relationships for the whole family and the communities in which they live" (Why Carrying Matters? Born to Carry) ​

What do I need to bring?
You can bring your own sling or carrier fit for purpose to move whilst babywearing during the class. We have some carriers as spares to be used. This is a dance class so wear comfortable clothes and shoes to dance in and we’d recommend bringing water for yourselves.

What to expect?
As you arrive, you can grab a seat around the room and start to get your carrier on. The teacher will come and check if you have a carrier and whether you feel confident using it. They can offer support in this area if you would like it.

Then we will start with a warm up dance where all attendees simply copy the teacher at the front. Following this we have set routines that we teach first before running to music. We repeat our routines so that attendees gradually learn the steps rather than feel the pressure in the first week! We end the class with a cool down and some time to reconnect with your baby.

Following this, we go up to a cafe situated in the building for a free drink and some natter with those that can stay.

How much is it?
Classes are £5 a session. We also have funding to provide free spaces for those who cannot afford it. If you would like to come but finances are a barrier at the moment, please email us!
